Migraines are not pleasant and can really disrupt your life. So what could be going on if you are experiencing them?

You could be deficient in magnesium and I would say that most people are deficient in magnesium. Unfortunately our soil now is not the same as it once was and so many minerals are depleted. Magnesium has been shown to relax our muscles and also blood vessels and helps to regulate the electrical activity of nerve and muscle cells. For supplements you could take magnesium citrate or magnesium glycinate.

You could also be not drinking enough water so try drinking a glass of water every 15 minutes and see if it helps alleviate the headache or migraine.

You could try adding rosemary into your diet. Rosemary can improve blood circulation and oxygen to the brain and lowers blood pressure, making it an excellent migraine treatment. To help with migraine relief, you can put some rosemary leaves in some hot water and put a towel over your head and breath in the rosemary water.

You also need to reduce your stress levels and I have an exercise that you can do which is really effective. Whenever you are feeling a bit stressed out, do this. Place one thumb over your left nostril and breath in with your right nostril. Place your thumb over your right nostril and breath out through your left nostril. Keep doing this alternating nostrils for about 10 times. You should feel a big difference in your stress levels.

Also a migraine could be tied into an imbalance of your hormones, a bacteria overgrowth in your small intestine or even a sensitivity to dairy or something simple like eating an artificial sweetener which when stopped could clear up your migraines. Everyone is different so if migraines are really a problem, I would recommend trying to eliminate some foods that might be triggers and also to ask your doctor to run some tests for your hormones or any digestive issues.
